1948 Front seats

You guys have helped me with many other questions with my Mercury, so I thought I would ask another one. I have a 1948 Mercury convert. Will the front seats from a 1941 Ford sedan fit in my Mercury?

Re: 1948 Front seats

On my 48 Ford conv., I used a coupe front seat. The only thing I had to do was remove the foot rests that was on it.

Thanks, but I don't know if the seats out of a sedan and coupe would be the same.

Maybe some one else will respond, but as far as I know, the 41 frames are different than the 42-48 frames . The mounting holes may not line up with the earlier seat.

Re: 1948 Front seats

There are two different seats for the 41 sedans. One for a four door and one for two door. Which one are you considering? I have to assume you want the one from a two door. The one from the two door should fit, but the mounting points could be different.

Thanks for the help. I will order the seats from a two door. If the mounting holes are a little different, I can probable fix that.

Re: 1948 Front seats

We have a 46 Mercury Sedan Coupe and had a 46 Ford coupe seat, it was a coupe of few inches narrower than the Mercury, SO not an "exact" fit/replacement.
