Where to Buy a 32 Model B Condenser

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a source for a '32 Model B ignition condenser. This used to be a commonly available item with the suppliers but it seems that everyone is out of stock. I did find this one on Ebay (Wells Ignition Condenser fits Ford Model B 1932 64XCJN) but it doesn't look like the original and doesn't have a lead wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Going back to a time when reproduction Model B condensers were not available I started using Model A condensers. Elongate the hole in the tab and add a wire to the other end (I think you can find a wire that will work in the terminal box on a Model A but it has been many years, otherwise just make one). Be sure to start with the highest quality condenser you can find (which used to be and I assume still is the high quality one sold by Bratton's). Avoid concourse judging (also on mine I have too many threads showing on the bolts).

Be sure to check first with Renner's Corner ((734) 428-8424) to see if there are any high quality reproductions out there.

This is what a NOS looks like. If your bad condensor appears the same I suggest reusing the bracket.

hey John,on my '37 iv'e had a remote ign. coil and condensor which have worked fine. standard motor products. cond.#FD-72 you can find on amazon or good guys auto parts i believe it's mfd.is rated at .28-32 mfd. prob would work for you. heat is what destroys these little tin cans. the current condensor iv'e had installed is at least a yr old. and i havnt had a bad one out of the box yet which iv'e had with napa eichlin condensers. Tom.

Thanks for all the advice. I spoke with Dave Renner and he mentioned that Allen Lepore (A&L Parts Specialties) made all the reproductions but for some reason isn't making them anymore. I looked him up and he's 20 miles from me in NJ. I may just stop by to find out if he has plans to continue manufacturing them. In the meantime, I'll contact Fred to get a NOS condenser. Thanks again.

I just bought two from a shop in New Zealand. [email protected]

I cancelled the order when they wanted $68.00 shipping.
