Wiring diagram for a 1932 model B with 12 volt battery

I'm over my head on this one. If they had left it alone with the 6 volt I think I would be OK. One problem is they installed a voltage regulator, Why. I thought all that was needed was a simple cut out. I really need a wiring schematic. The
generator has 2 wires on the top so not sure if it is a generator or?

Doesn't your own second sentence tell you what you really want to do? I'd say you have pretty good instincts.
