New 41-48 fuel tank $150

Just to let you guys know , Ecklers / MACS has them currently on sale . This is my second purchase ( yesterday ) . Double check your fitment because it incorrectly says for station wagon only . According to the parts department, it was supposed to say will not fit station wagon . The one I received last year had Drakes all over the box . It bolted up nicely but does not take the original fuel sender . I ended up modifying the fuel gauge with a 80s ford mustang gauge guts and the original faceplate . So of course I used a matched sender .
Good luck . I think the actual cost is $137.

Received the new Drake tank today . Just like the last and at $147 plus $14 shipping, not a bad deal . Now to install ….

I don’t understand Ecklers pricing. I wanted to order a spare gas tank , first was $147 , second was $550 + . Same tank different day . Go figure.

Appears it was a special, limited to a purchase made after obtaining a coupon and with a limited number of coupons available.

Thank you for posting this. I purchased one of the cut price tanks. I didn't use a coupon, just purchased it off their website. Dad's 46 sedan has a rusty gas tank. Now I need to figure out how to put a sending unit in this tank that works with the stock gauge.

I used late 70s ford gauges with the same ohm sender required for the 70s gauge . You just change faceplates . Of course this only works if converted to 12 volt. I think there should be a work around because the 70s gauge has voltage reduced to 6 volt pos ground.

I redrilled the mounting holes and used the stock sender. Also, the repop gaskets that came with my new tank were worthless.

Thank you for this, glad to know I can redrill and use the stock sender. I also remember fighting sending unit leaks with the supplied gasket on a friend's car, I need to ask what he did to get it to seal up.
