My 1934 Ford Has A New Home 1 Attachment(s)
Today my 1934 Ford is on it's way to Maine.
A few months ago my wife and I decided it was time to pass my grandfather's 1934 Ford onto the next generation. I sent an email to all my Casey cousins asking if any of them were interested in the car. Among others, my cousin Peter called me to tell me his son was interested. Once I talked to his son, Matt, my choice of who to give the car to was easy. Matt is 25, single and very soon will be a Ford master mechanic. Even more important, he is one fine young man. So he's a fourth generation owner of his great-grandfather's car. So Matt and his dad drove down from Maine to our home in Florida with Matt's trailer, stayed for a few days so Matt could get familiar with the car and today he drove his Ford onto his trailer, strapped it down and off they went. It was one of those bitter sweet moments for me. I was entrusted with the car 55 years ago. I've had a lot of fun times with the it. Today Matt took me for a 20 mile ride before it went onto the trailer and we both marveled at how well the 91 year old car runs. Finally, I want to thank all you wonderful members of the Ford Barn for your help over the years. This is such an amazing resource and you have been so generous with your time and talent. Matt will be signing on as a new member once he gets home and refreshed. I know you'll all welcome him and he'll always have your help. A very sincere "thank you" to you all. Tom P.S. Matt & his dad arrived in Maine at 11 p.m. yesterday(Wednesday). He had an uneventful 1400 mile trip. x |

Re: My 1934 Ford Has A New Home Nice story, I'm still smiling. I totally agree about The Barn, a wonderful bunch of folks. Thanks for sharing.

Re: My 1934 Ford Has A New Home What a tremendous story and history to keep alive. Let him also know about the Early Ford V8 Club as well....we have a promotion going right now called "Follow That Car" to keep the Early Ford V8 spirit alive. Can't wait to be a part of the "next chapter" both here on the barn AND hopefully The Early Ford V8 Club too.

Re: My 1934 Ford Has A New Home Also consider writing up a short story about the car, it's ownership and it's new owner. This is a great story and many people that don't read FordBarn would be really interested and enjoy hearing about this event.

Re: My 1934 Ford Has A New Home This would be a great story for the V-8 Times. Tom, you made a great decision to handing this old Ford to a new owner in the family.

Re: My 1934 Ford Has A New Home Matt texted me yesterday that he found a 1947 dime while cleaning the car. Damn, that's a silver dime from the year I was born. How'd I miss that over 55 years?
