Fairlane ashtray
 

I need an ashtray that goes into the dash of my 55. I don't care about the condition of the sheetmetal part that blends with the dash. I need the slide in part. If anyone has a parts car that has that part, let me know. If other years will slide in, I will consider that, too. Thank you!

Follow up edit: I've been looking at ebay and I see 4 or 5 ashtrays listed as OEM used for 55 Fairlane but on most of them the slide rails on the side are riveted on. Mine has them molded into the ashtry itself, not tacked on to the side with rivets. Design change? What does your ashtray look like? My car has a May 3 build date so maybe it's an updated design from those from early in the model year.

I have a spare 56 ash tray. Not sure if they are the same as 55 or not and too lazy to look it up. I can look tomorrow

Thanks for the offer. I bought one of the eBay units. We'll see if it works for what I want to do when it gets here. I don't know either if a 56 unit is the same as a 55. Don't have a master parts catalog.
