Re: New Burtz Special Interest Group

I have just been given a 1928 Model A with a cracked head. I am looking at Burtz blocks and I see a 4200 engine and an 8000 engine. What on earth is the difference? And what else will I need to get it running, ie. new cylinder head, head gaskets??? I hope I am posting in an ok place.

Kellerk99,
The difference in price is short block with all the interior guts installed, or the basic block where you, or someone else installs the guts.
Depending on your technical mechanical skills, you can spend more or less.

If your '28 motor is otherwise ok, spend some money on a new high compression head. The Burtz head is $420. And, if you eventually have to replace the engine, you will already have the head.

Good advice.
