Dist. cam

Who is carrying (vendor) the best distributor cam which the points ride on.

Re: Dist. cam

Most of the Model A parts vendors carry them. It is part #A-12210. The ones sold by Bert's are pretty spot on as far as lobe timing goes, but require polishing if you want the points rubbing block to last. https://modelastore.com/index.php?ro...&category_id=0

I would polish any cam you buy to a mirror finish.

Re: Dist. cam

Use the Model B distributor cam because it has a smoother profile for extended point rubbing block life.

Re: Dist. cam

Agree with P.S. and nkaminar about polishing - I ended up returning to an old original cam on one distributor because the rubbing block wear was so bad.
