Strange engine bolt. Where does it go? I'm reassembling my engine 1950 8-CM and I found this bolt that is quite different than the rest. It's a 7/16 hex head about an inch about a quarter long, coarse thread. It has a hole drilled through the center threaded end and another through the top end of the threads. I assume it's used to lubricate some part. I tried to post a picture but no luck. Any thoughts?

Re: Strange engine bolt. Where does it go? might be oil filter return line, on my 59ab it goes to a banjo fitting on the timing cover

Does not belong to his 1950. Or any post war car. |

Re: Strange engine bolt. Where does it go? The vacuum line to the distributor connection located just below the carburetor in the intake manifold.

Re: Strange engine bolt. Where does it go? Thanks to all who replied, especially the one with the picture. That's exactly what it looks like. My only other thought was, I replaced the oil pump idler gear and bushing and thought it might hold that assembly together to furnish oil to the bushing.
