Light switch with a stamped S 1 Attachment(s)
Is this light switch an original with the S stamp.
It sure goes on better than any other light switch I’ve put on. |
Re: Light switch with a stamped S Not authoritative…
S could be Scoville ..they made many A parts As to being original, most I’ve seen original have begun to patina even NOS off old shelves! If not original…my Scoville theory is bad!! Again SWAG |
Re: Light switch with a stamped S Shape characteristics are about the best way to ID the different switches used during model A production. I know there were 4 distinct variations depending on date of manufacture. Most reproductions for model As are of the latest style used by Ford after February 1930. The B-11655 was the later type but it continued in use up through 1939.
In the switch base housing, the type of rotating contacts will tell what type headlamps it was used with. Ford generally had several subcontractors to make the different electrical parts they used but I don't have much info on the switches in question. |
