I saw that one on FB as well. Appears to be right hand drive like the Australian "Utes".

Very interesting vehicle, but sorry, the narrative doesn't stand up to history.

The story claims that we told Argentina in 1939 that production was ending because we had Nazis to kill. In fact, we had no intention of going to war against Germany and "killing Nazis" until after Hitler declared war on the U.S. on December 11, 1941.

Ah, but he read it online, so it must be true ( false).

1938 Ford Standard Roadster Ute - the final year for this body style in Australia.
For 1938, all Utes were Standard models.

An image search turned up the same photo and story that was posted on this forum 12 years ago. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78481
And there is the possibility it was a custom job. We used to make our own pickup trucks here in Sask. Just cut the back half of the roof and trunk lid off and there you go. Like this 58 I saw a few years ago.

It sure didn't Ken! I appreciate your insight into the story. We all have found that many folks add whatever they wish to a story whether it has any fact or not. I really enjoy the things I can search and find on the internet but a critical mind is definitely necessary.
