Leaky Transmission on a 53 Customline

I recently replaced the rear seal transmission a few months. After the car was sitting for storage the tranny fluid leaked out . Checked the the seal/boot it was saturated with tranny fluid. My next thought would be the rear bushing in the back of the transmission housing. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Which transmission? How long in storage?

Is the rear seal the only place it is leaking? How many miles was the car driven with the new seal before storage?

Shake the driveshaft at the yoke and see if there is any excess movement.

If so, it is most likely a worn yoke or output shaft bushing. A bad u-joint can also cause a seal/bushing to go bad. It probably took the new seal with it if poor quality or incorrect installation.

Was the trans overfilled? Does it expel fluid out the dipstick tube while driving? It may also be a bad vent.

There is a special service tool that allows replacing the bushing the car.
