No start
 

Chasing a no start 1937 Ford 6 volt model 60 . I have very low spark so I relaced the coil -no good ,- tested the condenser with ohm meter -good , Pulled the distributor off to check points and half the cam keyway on distributor is missing . It appears to have been like that for a while. Distributor is helmet style with external coil. Car has been sitting for 6 months. Can I go to the crab style distributor ?

Unless you mean a quality recent multimeter with a specific condenser test function, you didn't test it at all. Plus, they are also heat sensitive, so a momentary test doesn't tell you much. I would suggest that you obtain some (more than one) quality new condensers and try those first. Hopefully, there is enough keyway left to drive the distributor. Skip Haney in Florida can refurbish your original coil; even an NOS ford coil is probably no good after all of this time.

It's been a long time since I messed with a V8-60 (if that's what you have), but I think rounding up the parts to install a crab may be difficult if not impossible.
