Repro shocks I have a car in my shop now that needs a set of shock absorbers. The customer wants to go with repro shocks. Does anyone here have any experience with the current offerings from Snyder's and Bratton's?

Re: Repro shocks You can buy repro shocks at a pretty steep price. I have heard good and bad about them.
Or, you can call John. He specializes in rebuilding original Model A shocks. He does excellent work and is very reasonable in pricing. Give him a call. Shock rebuilder: John Holland 330-483-3896 7208 West Law Rd. Valley City, OH 44280 |
Re: Repro shocks Believe me I understand. I've used Mr Holland and he is terrific. My customer wants repro shocks, so I'm just doing a little research.

Re: Repro shocks 400A--I have tested the Bratton's shocks and they do perform well compared to the resistance capacity of the original Houdaille shocks. These are oil-filled like the originals and preform better and last longer than sealed shock absorbers. If your customer decides on Bratton's, make sure ones received are of the latest design. The older design had a thicker area where the D bolts mount them to the frame. This has been corrected, so the original mounting hardware can be used.

Re: Repro shocks Thank you Steve. This is very helpful. I'll make certain that the shocks we get are the latest versions. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my request.
