Need help identifying these tools
 

A friend in his 70's is getting rid of stuff and gave me these. He got them from his grandfather. He worked at a Ford dealership as a mechanic I'm told. He also had a 40 or 41 Ford that he remembers grandpa having.

Neither of us want this stuff to end up in the dump so hopefully the Ford Barn members can let me know some details of the items and I'll post them up in the classified section. A couple items are obvious but a few not so much. There's a nice 41 (owners manual?) a couple wrenches with Ford logo and part numbers, timing light, vacuum gauge, manometer? Non Ford tools and some wire in the box and one item I have no idea. I'll see if I can get pics to post. They are on my phone.

Not sure what attenuator wire is for or what the other item is at all. Just happened to be in the box of stuff. I have one more "multi wrench" tool I forgot to get a picture of. I'll be back.

Here's the last wrench. No markings on it that I can find.

The rubber hose on the vacuum gauge is still in good condition. Maybe I'll use it if no one is interested.

The wire on the timing light is kind of stiff but it still flexes and didn't crack.

I'm just hoping you guys may have more detailed info so I can post it up in the classified section. Even if there's little or no value, someone may want it. Like I said, better than in the dump. Thanks in advance.

Don't know if the timing light is voltage specific, but if it is, don't know if a serial plate or something on the light would reveal the voltage.

Thanks for the reply signsup, I'll take a look and maybe just try to see if it works on my flathead.

I see a lot of this stuff on eBay cheap. I never figured out what some of it even is. I just posted it in the Swap meet section. I may use the vacuum gauge but the rest will get probably get scrapped if nobody is interested.

I used to think it was a shame to throw old stuff like this out. I thought "SOME ONE" can probably use it. Until I was the guy that had too much junk because of thinking that way. I try my best to give it a good home but I can't keep it around forever.

The good news is that the timing light isn't "voltage specific", since that type runs off of the secondary ignition voltage, which can vary all over the place. The bad news is that the light is so weak that it literally can't be seen. You may have lucked out, but that looks exactly like one I had when i was a kid. I literally had to wait until it was dark out, close the garage doors, turn off the lights, and then I could see just enough to check the timing.:D

I like the last wrench. It had to be big tight bolts seeing the places specifically designed to be "pounded on" at the ends.

The last multi wrench isn't designed to be pounded on, those are different size square drives to fit into pipe plugs and the like.

So it is a window sprayer. My buddy that gave me this stuff thought so. He said he could remember the service station guy having them in his pocket.

The "multi tool" looks like it was well used so it must have been handy. It reminds me of some of the bicycle tools I've had.

Any Idea of what the round item that was in the wrapper is??

Is the valve spring compressor something that I might be able to use once I get to the rebuild of my Flathead?

I also still have boxes of wrenches from my grandfather that gets little interest. Just about everything these days is metric. I hate to take it to the scrap yard. I'm getting older and after cleaning out my parents house I don't want my kids to get stuck with my stuff. It will definitely end up as scrap at that point.

If anybody is interested in anything reply to my post in the swap meet. I'd rather give it away than throw it out.
