1930 RPU windshield Hi everyone,
I have a ’30 RPU. It has no top, and it came to me with an ill-fitting ’32 chopped windshield on it. Since I am not worried about originality (the direction I'm going to is a pre-war “hot rod,” with no mods that can’t be easily undone by the current or the next caretaker), I will probably purchase a 2” chopped windshield frame that is proper for the car. The question I have is that both Speedway and Little Dearborn sell the frame I need, but neither sells the glass. I live in a decent-sized town with plenty of resources. Is this something I can possibly source locally custom-cut, or are their online outlets that would have this part readily available? I have no experience with these cars, and all my experience is with early to mid-’60’s cars, which is a completely different ballgame. Thanks in advance. |
Re: 1930 RPU windshield glass shop- safety glass or a 1/4 inch plexi if you so desire.

Re: 1930 RPU windshield I am a little out of my comfort zone here but I believe the deluxe open cars windshields are shorter than those used on the standard vehicles (including your RDPU) and might be short enough for what you want. You might have better luck locating one of these with glass installed.
You should put your general location in your profile. Charlie Stephens |
Re: 1930 RPU windshield I got my windshield it was standard size, as Charlie says, the deluxe windshields are 1" shorter than standard windshield. Mine had a crack in it. A local auto glass company used it as a template, the new one fit perfectly.
