'54 Skyliner radiator Does anyone have a recommendation for an original looking radiator? I found this one which looks like it fits the bill.

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator I think that's only one that is aluminum with an oem looking top tank. Especially at that price.
I actually bought the same one for my wagon. I have not had a chance to install. But will be doing so before my Vegas trip. I also was looking to install a shroud at the same time and the companies that make them are not making late 50's Ford custom shrouds. You might as well update to the steel 6 blade fa while you are at it. Any other radiator with the oem look will be 600-800 dollars. Also reviews is the same amount. |
Re: '54 Skyliner radiator Where did you find the 6 blade fan?

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator I found a 6 blade on Larry's for $60. Is that what you found?
Also, the measurements aren't quite right on the radiator. Is the fitment good? |
Re: '54 Skyliner radiator I bought a non black aluminum one from them for my '54 Ranch Wagon. Fit fine. There was some minor shipping damage to one of the hose openings which I resized with no issues. They knocked 50 bucks off. Car is down for major body work so no long term experience but I'd order one again if needed. JMO

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator On the subject of radiators. Most places list the 56 radiator as type1 or type2. My original was a 6 cylinder radiator and is long gone. How does one know which type I would need? Thanks

Re: '54 Skyliner radiator Be careful about saving a few bucks. Can be more headaches than what it is worth.
My 57 has a radiator I got from Concourse Parts (before new ownership) and it fit like a glove. I upgraded the radiator, because mine seemed like it didn't hold enough coolant when I pulled the hose. I also bought the shrould, and the 6 blade fan. I think I had a short spacer from Speedway in my pile of goodies I used to maximize the fan depth. It was nice not having to relocate mountings, or fluid lines. |
Re: '54 Skyliner radiator Concours copper, original looking radiators are about $800 with shipping. I've decided to hold off on either of them until I get my tax bill. I'm leaning toward the Concourse because it is US made.
