Oil fill pipe

Would a longer fill pipe cause the engine to not vent properly? Is there any reason that this wouldn't work. I don't want to install a cap with the vent hose that runs under the car. I don"t want the oil vapor under the car making a mess. thank you Don

Re: Oil fill pipe

Early Model B Fords had a longer fill pipe and they soon went to a larger diameter pipe to solve the problem.

If your engine is in good condition you should not have a mess under your car. A road draft tube is actually a good thing for your engine as it helps pulled contaminants (unburned fuel, water and acids) from your crankcase.
