Recognize this air cleaner?

There is a Victoria on Bring A Trailer with an upswept air cleaner system (see picture 45). Can anyone identify this?

It's the rare Donaldson snorkel kit. For when you traverse high water.

It looks home made to me.

The worm gear "band clamps" are kind of a clue. Not in common use in the US until after WWII, although their European development/use seems as early as 1893.

Here's the photo #45 that you are referring to, where you can see the air cleaner system:

Nice car but not for the purist. It may go for @25,000.

Wasn't somebody selling those a few years ago? Easily made up with a couple of radiator hose pieces,an exhaust pipe,a piece of iron for a bracket, and a K&N air filter.I like it.The air blockage created by that K&N filter is almost too small to measure.Nice car.Purists could sit and pick it apart all day though.

It's a neat air cleaner...it looks like you could legitimately get some miles on back country unpaved roads in that car. And with an overdrive? Too bad the paint is so nice...it would be a great car for the long dirt roads out in the desert (not four wheeling, but lots of great unpaved roads around).

I have a setup from a BB truck that I've been planning on using since about 1980.Same idea, but with an oil bath cleaner.

For all their concern about the engine ingesting dirt it doesn’t have engine pans.

I was a little high on my predicted sale price of $25,000, see post #5. It sold yesterday for $23,500.
