Australian Seat Springs

3 Attachment(s)
I was told that these seats were possibly carried over into some of the 1933 models. Pictures are from Australian 1930-32 Sports Phaeton. I’m in need of the backrests to buy outright or borrow for patterns.

Are you looking for a U. S. car or a Australian one. For a U S car, Snyder Antique Auto Parts made springs for early fords. It's been awhile since I had any business with them, but the last number I had was 330-549-5313 for tech info. Reg # 888-262-5712. They are located in Ohio

I doubt that the '32 Australian phaeton seat back cushion springs are carried over from those in a Model A phaeton, let alone on into the Australian '33 phaeton, given that each model year's phaeton body is very unique from one another.

Each of the above pictures shows the Australian built “Sports Phaeton,” a completely unique body produced in the 3rd quarter of 1930 through 1932. Both the front and rear seat backrests are the double cushion design. I own a 1930 Sports Phaeton, one of the first 99 produced in 1930. I need the backrests.

I don’t know anything about the Australian early V8 production. Maybe someone has the Australian body parts book from 1932/33 and can look for the part number progression. I’m going on a tip from someone on another facebook forum.

I believe that Snyder's will custom make seat springs if you supply a pattern or specifications.

Carline Manufacturing, Beaumont TX (409) 833-9757 also will make custom seat springs. Note Carline is NOT affiliated with "the other guy" in Beaumont.

If I had a pattern or specifications then I wouldn’t be desperately searching the earth for a set. I’m capable of making the springs myself if I had a pattern!

Thank You for the suggestion Karl.
