Lincoln/Ford Drum Compatibility

Does anyone know if the 1937-39 Lincoln Wide five Front drums are compatible with the 1937-39 Ford Wide five drums? I'm doing a brake conversion on my '36 Ford Pickup and need to know before I purchase any of the kits available. Also, will I need to change my spindles for the 37-39 drums?

If you are considering to buy the "MT/Boling Brothers Lincoln brake kit" I recommend you to first get in touch with Dennis Lacy at Early V8 Garage in West Covina, CA at (626) 338-2282. He can answer your questions with correct information.

Re: Lincoln/Ford Drum Compatibility

FYI, 39 Lincoln was not wide five. Lincoln went to 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern in 1939.

What parts are you trying to put together? If using the Boling Brother's or Speedway 41 Lincoln style backing plates, it would probably be simplest to use 37-41 Ford round back spindles and 37-39 Ford wide five drums.
