Temp and oil psi gauge For anyone that installed temp and oil pressure gauges how did you route the lines through the firewall.....Vern

Re: Temp and oil psi gauge I have a Temperature gauge only and yes the line routes through the fire wall at the Junction Box.

Re: Temp and oil psi gauge IMO, it depends on where you are going to mount the gauges. If they are going to live under the dash panel, I'd go through the junction box as as been said above. I make a steering column support bracket with provision built in for the instruments. For those, I come in along the steering column.

Re: Temp and oil psi gauge I run my temp ga up along side the steering col. The oil press. ga I run thru the firewall along with the speedo cable. If you are running a Model A with stock oiling system, you will be wasting your time, they have little to no pressure.

Our stock engines oil pressure gauge reads 10 plus pounds when cold. After warm up it reads around 3 to 5 pounds running in third gear at 30 MPH. 1 pound or so at idle. 20w-50 HD oil used. This is in the summer. |
Re: Temp and oil psi gauge Hello, on my car they have the wires through the junction box , also my oil pressure is about the same as post 8 not much at idle when warm, running 20 w 50 too . The gauges are mounted under instrument panel.
