What's worse?

I can't decide whether I am more annoyed by the threads about Camaro bucket seats or Dental procedures.:(

Come on guys; let's at least try to keep things on topic.

There has been a lot of talk lately about what I consider street rod modifications. I don't want to be rude, those kind of posts make me wonder why here?

All the above, and those pictures that make your eyes hurt.

Unfortunately, there are (at least that I have found) no good forums for "mild" street rods. The H.A.M.B. tends to have too much information scattered around and the crowd there tends to have little tolerance for anything other than "old school hot rods", whatever that is. The "Barn" seems not to care a lot about what the car is when questions apply both to a mild street rod or original car (what door handle? window regulator? etc), and if out of bounds the reply is polite.

Best answer in generality is "You are making your car a custom, to fit your preferences, we don't know you... so figure it out and have fun with the car."

We've been around this topic many times. Personally I like a little variety, and if it does not interest me I move on. No problem.

Agree 100%. Variety is the spice of life

That's how I feel.

Tubman, sorry to offend, I just thought the info about the tiny torque wrench was interesting

Sometimes the original post can be interesting and harmless. It seems to be the "afterlife" that goes where it pleases. I have been guilty of that myself. It's easy to forget what this forum is specifically intended for. I intend to be more careful in future posts and responses.

Re: What's worse?

I believe the forum is intended for not only technical advice, but also entertainment amongst like minded folks. I learned some things about implants, not my favorite subject, but I looked. Perhaps pathetic life...whatever. Got a new garage? lets see it!
Etc, etc. If it don't strike your fancy...don't look

It will come as no surprise to the active members here that I tend to stray from the topic here on a what seems to be a regular basis. The locals have been very good to me by not calling me on the carpet for off brand power plants and running gear, even from foreign made vehicles. I attribute that to the fact that I scrounge up what I have laying around, build a period looking vehicle that is practical and I can get some use from. They are built in the spirit of our dad's generation. Making do. For all the support and the many kind words (and free parts!) I want to thank you. I happen to enjoy the off topic stuff like the post about stepping outside and hearing two radial engine aircraft overhead, maybe because they are from our V8 era, or just the nostalgia. Perhaps the other reason I stray is simply because I can easily go a week or ten days without stepping foot off my remote hillside property. There's nobody to banter with and no breakfast joint in town where the locals hang out and make wisecracks with each other. I have a very small presence on a toyota landcruiser site, and on 'ford truck enthuiasts, but my wife will tell you that the 'Barn' is where I am at home. I completely and honestly understand the need for knowing the correct type of bolt for a '36 battery tray, but I rarely read those. Just the way Skip mentioned, I just scroll past what doesn't interest me. In closing, Denny, you have my respect and I am not arguing your point, just expressing my my particular take on it. The FTE forum has been much compromised by slammed down, small blocked, 22" shod 'trucks'. GB

I expect one day to read a post by Gary expounding on the variety of mouth-watering fruit to be found atop a certain dancer's head. If I remember correctly, Carmen did prefer Fords, didn't she?
It's been said many times that it was the cars that brought us together, but the people that keep us together.

If people aren’t interested in a thread…..it’ll move down the list on its own….Ive started threads that I thought were interesting and they went nowhere…..I've been guilty of following Gary on some of his “walk abouts”….. It would be nice to have a lot of the people on here as neighbors…….then we could bypass the screen and keyboard…….Mark

Re: What's worse?

If I lived on Gary's island, there is no doubt I'd be telling my wife as I walk out the door, "I'm going to Gary's."

Now, whether I'm invited is another story. LOL!!!!!!

Well, I like them all and don't think we need anyone telling us what to read! If you don't like a thread scroll on!

Thank you friends, and all are welcomed to banter and wisecrack on Mt. Pickett. Don't all come at once as I may not have enough tuti-fruity hats to go around.

I don't know about y'all, but to me an old ford is an old ford, I make no bones about I'm building my car modified. I'm here because I feel better among my own age group, plus, appreciate them all.
