Overdrive Cable Clamp on a Shoebox woodie 1 Attachment(s)
Ref 49 wagon
Attaching the OD cable with an Addell clamp, which is OK, there is some movement of the cable inside the clamp. Using the side of the transmission as a mounting point. Should I be using the smooth end of the cable? What is the preferred method of mounting and the type of clamp? Side of the transmission Any suggestions are welcomed. thanks |
Re: Overdrive Cable Clamp on a Shoebox woodie I believe the clamp is supposed to fit around the ferrule that you can see further towards the end of the cable. I found some steel clamps that I could modify (grinding the clearance) to fit perfectly around the ferrule and fit in the recessed area around the shifter housing bolt (the one that you are currently using in your photo). I fussed around with my grinder and the dremel to cut the sides of the clamp down and it took a good half hour finessing to get it to fit perfectly but it worked.
