And 7. Did a great job on my original 1940 Fordor glove box lock!

Re: Keys

Hey, question about keys. I inherited my dad’s 37. The keys are really worn. How can I get “new” keys made? I can have them “duplicated” but they will still be worn. You guys mentioned the code on the lock. Where is it located?

Re: Keys

The door lock cylinder from the right front door will have the code for the ignition key. Be sure to use lots of penetrating oil on the set screw that holds the door lock cylinder in, the screw is very easy to damage.

The glove box lock will have the code for the trunk lock stamped on its side.

32phil could probably make you a new key from your worn out one, just by seeing the profile. Check with him to see if he can make one from a picture.

32phil is a master with his key and lock experience. As little as shipping costs are the preferred way is to send the key cylinder to 32phil. I think he prefers that method and when you get it back it will work BETTER than new!
