I think that this is the picture you are chasing? Ford Model A Funeral Coach - Body by Briggs |

Note that this is the same illustration as above, but has been masterly coloured. |
Re: Hearse Is that an indention in the front door, right behind the spare tire? Or just a reflection?

Re: Hearse 6 Attachment(s)
This is a Funeral Coach owned by the funeral home across the street from The Henry Ford in Dearborn. They bought this coach new and have kept it all these years.

Re: Hearse Thanks for the indent confirmation. Did any other models have that? I've never seen it anywhere else.....
|
Re: Hearse That's a very unique rear bumper on that hearse.
|
Re: Hearse Did that model have larger wheels/tires, so the indentation was needed?
|
Re: Hearse The tires were 600 (or 650) x 20 truck tires. Even with the indent, the door still didn't swing very wide.

Re: Hearse When the spare is sidemounted you have to have the indent. I've seen a few. Most plain late AAs have a spare under the bed or duals. The truck in Terry's illustration doesn't have one but it's not a Ford body.
