I have been following this gentleman for a few years.
He does road trips in Europe, and in the states.
His post are humorous and educational.
Right now his group is traveling from California to Florida.

They were in Alaska this past summer, The engine in their car was swapped out for an Alaska rebuild while they were here. Reports were that they were in Las Vegas this past week. (One of the guys in our club saw & spoke to them there) They started their trip in the far reaches of Brazil & Argentina.

A friend has driven the entire length of the Lincoln Hiway twice in a 1918 Dodge brothers staff car. And just this summer there was a Model T that ran across the country too. I think that would be a fun adventure.

The best days for me transporting are on a two lane
road with no cell service and just a few cars …

“ God Left The Back Gate Open “
is what I call those days …

They stopped by Sacramento Vintage earlier this year. Replaced a really bad tire and their muffler while they were here. Need to find the photos and will post. Nice folks!

Re: These guys are a hoot - traveling now from California to Florida in Model A’s

A couple of years ago, I read a book about a competition that took entrants from London, England to Sydney, Australia. Each car was required to travel at least, I think 25,000 miles and the route taken was up to the team. It had to be approved by the organisers to make sure enough miles were covered. The team behind the book took a fairly direct route to Sydney but were well short of their minimum distance so they had to "do a lap of the block". That is, they had to drive right around the continent of Australia to make up the miles.
They quickly learned that although it was a race, speed was not what it was about. To keep their Model A in one piece, they drove at a conservative 40 mph for usually about 16-18 hours a day. Even then, the car was a wreck by the time they finished.
I must see if I can find that book again.
Then there is a friend of mine who drove a Model T from Melbourne, Australia to Moscow unaccompanied. Sir Francis Birtles' drive from London to Melbourne in 1927 has just been re enacted by two different cars. The list of similar achievements goes on and on.
California to Florida - hardly enough to get the engine warm!

Good for them, that is way cool to take a trip like they are doing in a Model A.
