10" clutch issues with T-5 adapter

I have had a T-5 speedway adapter with a 1940 flathead and 9" clutch with no problems. I just switched to a 59A flathead with a 10" clutch, and it goes together with the adapter, but will not turn over. I have heard there can be clearance issues with this setup. What have others done in this situation? Clearance aluminum case, or remove outboard clutch finger weights? This is a stock throw out bearing.

Re: 10" clutch issues with T-5 adapter

I fought this problem for many years since I started marketing my T5 kit in the 90's. For some strange reason in the beginning PP clearance was not a problem but gradually as the OEM Ford PP's started to disappear and the Chinese shit took over problems ensued. When I started I used the adapter from Offenhauser which Speedway copied in China in the early 2000's. It was either clearance the inside of the bellhousing or remove the counter weights. In about 2010 I went a different direction with a different foundry and machine shop. We are now on our 3rd version of a bellhousing and think the clearance problem may be over? Hopefully I'll get some positive feedback from my customers who buy this new version? Gary at Cornhusker Rod & Custom

Thanks for the info Gary, I wish my vehicle had one of your adapters in it.
