My Dad drove a Model A School Bus at "MAD" (Monrovia, Arcadia, and Duarte). It was a standard length I'm pretty sure.
Wayno

I wonder if the bus got level when loaded with kids.

I wondered the same thing and assumed so. Those kids at the back of the buss - the trouble makers would have hit their heads on the roof when the driver hit a bump. Maybe he knew where every bump was!!!

Statement from your posting Synchro 909, quote below.

I sometimes wonder what happened to the people who asked me for directions.
Even at my age, I still like to look at a young, attractive woman but I can't really remember why.

Do young attractive women look at you Synchro?

If I saw one doing that, I'd wonder what she wanted. They give nothing for nothing at any age.

Re: School bus

Back in 1954 I bought a really rough 1926 roadster from a farmer near Cleveland Texas for $15. The battery was dead and the starter didn't work. The farmer showed me how he started it. He set the crank at the 3 o'clock position and put his foot hard on the crank handle. I drove the car about 35 miles to Houston. I didn't know any better and started it that way for about 3 months. One day I had just filled the tank with gas and had left the throttle wide open. The engine started with a roar and threw a rod through the oil pan. I towed the car home and parked it in front of the house. My mother sold it for $50 the next day. In spite of my luck I don't recommend this.
