Need help with headlight and ignition switches in column
 

None of my trucks have the origianal switches in the column hooked up. I don't have any information on how to work on them. Are they so problematic they aren't worth woking on?

33 and 34 BB truck and 35 model 51 truck.

Do you have the switch at the bottom of the column or is it missing?

Also need the horn rod which has to be straight. Most problems come from bent or deformed horn rods which will sometimes turn the lights ON or OFF when the steering wheel is turned. Otherwise not much problem.

i did a back yard job rebuilding my egg at the bottom of the 32 steering column. Just took some time and patience. I think my wire coming down for the horn was intact. I did not have to play with the items on the steering wheel. Give us some pictures and what is your goal.

Also, the wiring harness needs to have the switch plate attached. The switch plate with wires goes inside the sheet metal container on the bottom of the steering box. The light switch rod spins a contact disc making contact with the wiring harness to make the lights work.

Does your column lock, prevent the steering wheel from turning? If so It would appear the column drop has many of the parts necessary for the original ignition switch to work.
