Re: rebuilt 8ba with only 4 'flywheel holes- no dowels Pilot bushing or bearing is in flywheel not crank.

Re: rebuilt 8ba with only 4 'flywheel holes- no dowels I've read that some late Merc cranks with factory fitted auto trans were not "dimpled" for manual trans input shafts in the flange, but no knowledge about dowel holes being removed also.

Re: rebuilt 8ba with only 4 'flywheel holes- no dowels If the flywheel is still installed it'll look like it has no dowels since the tin cover hides them. Maybe not your situation but thought I'd mention it.

Re: rebuilt 8ba with only 4 'flywheel holes- no dowels I've seen 4" Merc cranks that were NOT setup for manual trans. I've never seen a crank without the dowel pins.

Re: rebuilt 8ba with only 4 'flywheel holes- no dowels Final word from customer: corrected missing idea. Needed a smarter better inspection- all ok thanks fellows. Newc
