Automatic crank?? old Tam eng Ford rebuild. No dowel holes and checking for pilot bushing hole ?Customers eng. Newc

Pilot bushing or bearing is in flywheel not crank.

I've read that some late Merc cranks with factory fitted auto trans were not "dimpled" for manual trans input shafts in the flange, but no knowledge about dowel holes being removed also.

If the flywheel is still installed it'll look like it has no dowels since the tin cover hides them. Maybe not your situation but thought I'd mention it.

I've seen 4" Merc cranks that were NOT setup for manual trans. I've never seen a crank without the dowel pins.

Final word from customer: corrected missing idea. Needed a smarter better inspection- all ok thanks fellows. Newc
