That’s why my hood is a slightly different color than the rest of the body!

Re: oops

That is amazing. Model A body panels are not made from thin metal.

No they are not. Imagine what that blade could have done to the radiator, or a body.

Paint in stitching lines so it becomes another topic for discussion at car shows.

Re: oops

You can just imagine how deadly that could be if you have the hood up and you're running the engine doing something under the hood like adjusting the carburetor mixture!!!

Re: oops

I nearly put an original fan on my car. Knowing myself I'd probably forget to check it and then have this happen. Imagine if it happened at a parade or public event; at the least it would be embarrassing. At the most it might hurt someone.

Hope you can stitch up your car in quick order. If not now it's a nice winter project on the to-do list

Brad, that picture is worth 1000 words. Great garage art, glad you saved it.

Re: oops

I find it astounding that given all of the posted fan blade departures, that given all of the warnings posted and the availability of replacement fans, that any Model A driver would run an original fan! No matter how good an original fan looks, or no matter how it was restored, an original fan is a time bomb because its remaining fatigue life is unknown!!!

If you REALLY want to make an impression at a car show or anywhere else for that matter, leave that hood on the car with the fan blade sticking out and drive it around that way! :D

Re: oops

Original fans make great man cave wall hangers. I was warned so I sold mine as a wall hanger for $20 a few years back after it was it just sitting in one of many boxes taking up space.

Regards
Bill
