Happy Veterans Day!

I am sure a lot of members here are Veterans, some of you I have met but most I have not. I just wanted to say Thank You and wish a Happy Veterans Day to all those that have served and to those that continue to serve.

We may not know them all, but we owe them all

Great shot, I know you are proud. BY the way, that's a M151A2 "Mutt" he is riding!!!! The A2 mutts came out in late 67 or early 68, could be a Ford??? ALSO the best "pure off-road" jeep ever made!!!!

Yes, VFW Veterans of Foreign Wars: not those that served or serving in peacetime.

Re: Happy Veterans Day!

According to the owner of the jeep, it is a ford and a 1960 version and is set up ad a Vietnam era one because the driver was in Nam ….

Btw, my Dad is a 100+ year old WWII one armed amputee vet, a member of the 317th infantry and part of Patten’s army.

M151 truck utility 1/4 ton 4x4. But don't call it a Jeep! But terrible on pavement. A trainee rolled one when I was at Ft. Gordon for MP training. From what I understand M151's weren't supposed to be ever auctioned to the public due to their poor on road handling. There was one in my town that the owner bought from the local JC surplus auction. The college obtained it from the military and later sold it years later.

Don't believe the "hype" about 151's....IF you knew how the Fed tested the M151, NO jeep, EVER, would have passed their testing method. NOT even a brand new one sold today!!!! THEY "basically" nailed the gas peddle to the floor, let it get to full speed, then turned the steering wheel to FULL lock. SURE, just about every vehicle you do that too will ROLL....I guarantee a WWII Jeep with its "higher" center of gravity will do that in a heartbeat. ALSO the m151 (and especially the A2) did great on the road.....but was even better OFF road. IT was pretty much what everyone's "idea" of jeep is in the woods...Virtually un-stickable, nimble, comfortable and a joy to drive!!!! I can ALSO guarantee its 1000% better on the road than the current military HumVee
