180a Good Morning, if a 180 A had tag # 159-64xx. What would the build month be of that car?? Also as near as I can tell it was always a left hand drive car.
Thanks for the info |
Re: 180a The easiest way to tell the year of your car (given that you have the original engine block) is by the number on the driver's side of the block. If not then you can peice together an approximate date from features like the radiator cowl, indentation of the firewall, steering box, etc.
Here's a link to a PDF that has a few date-coded items: http://www.plucks329s.org/pdf/studie...ND%20CODES.pdf |
Re: 180a Thank you and yes I have been on that site
I figured the 180 A experts would chime in with approximate date the car was built based on the 159-64xx number Thank you again |
Re: 180a 1 Attachment(s)
Mike1291,
My car is a 1929 Tudor 55-A with a serial number A163xxxx which is May 1929. I did find the date on the bottom corner of the toolbox , just next to the firewall 12-23-28. I haven’t sen any documents on how long parts “hung” around the plant but there is a difference between the motor date and the date on the fuel tank. Thoughts? |
Re: 180a Sorry, not toolbox but fuel tank!

Re: 180a There is no listing of a Model 159 I know of.

Re: 180a Morning Bob 159-64xx is the number listed on the Briggs tag riveted to the firewall of this 2 door phaeton . It's my understanding all 180A start with 159-xxxx
