Re: Ford and servicycle Another amazing photo!!!

Re: Ford and servicycle I’m old enough to still remember one local service center still using one of these in the late 50’s.
I lived in Simsbury, Connecticut. I think it was Mitchell Buick. Brings back a long forgotten memory. Enjoy. |
Re: Ford and servicycle I grew up in Chicagoland, The Chicago PD used the Harley tricycles for parking enforcement in the1950's.

Re: Ford and servicycle I used one of these in the early 1960's while working for a Olds and Cadillac dealership . As I remember the Harley was sold for around $800 . It was fun to drive .

Re: Ford and servicycle I remember the meter maids driving something like this to give out parking tickets.

Re: Ford and servicycle The Servicar made by Harley Davidson was the one machine that continued the use of the 45 side valve engine all the way up to 1973. The two wheelers ended with the K model in the early 50s. The engine cases have the G model stamping. Indian and a few others had three wheeled vehicles that were common back in the day. Cushman sort of took it over when they made the enclosed models. I've seen the Cushmans used for parking meter inspection and on many military air fields for all weather movement on the ramps.
