I had a set of those years ago.I also had a set of molds with the grooves made into them. The machinest I got them from told me that he didn't like the molded grooves,he said he could see signs of the babbit pulling away from the edges of the grooves after it cooled. So,he always used the cutter. All the molded grooves I saw in rods always looked fine to me,much neater.I sold it all to somebody here about 20 years ago.

Congrats. The key on those (-or at least mine) is having the cutters properly sharpened with the correct undercut.
