Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? 2 Attachment(s)
This Murray tag was on the inside wood under my unrestored 1929 station wagon front seat.
I thought the number should start with 150, not 250. Could it be original, but the installer stamped a 2 by mistake? There were 4954 station wagons made in 1929. 4048 is under that number. . |
Re: Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? The body type is 150A and M250 is the serial number prefix.

Re: Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? Bob,
Do you own a Model A Station Wagon? If so, does it have a Murray tag under the seat? |

Re: Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? Whoever at the Murray factory drove in the nail on the right that day must have had a hangover from the night before. Or if a restorer added this tag, his attention to detail is questionable. :)

Re: Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? Mengel Body of Louisville, Kentucky milled the lumber from Iron Mountain and then sent it on to Murray or Baker-Raulang for the assembly of 150 bodies. The Murray built bodies would have had their tag. I agree on the tack job. Ford would have had a cow if they received a body with that kind of work.

Nope don't own one. |
Re: Is this an original Murray tag for a 1929 station wagon? Im calling it a repro tag because of the bent nail and the numbers are a bit too straight.........
