1 of 28…

Hello everyone!
I’m new here, people call me Red.. or Rampage lol
So a few months ago I purchased another ford..
said truck is a 1989 F350 XLT- Lariat
Has everything I was looking for; diesel, dually, stick, 4x4.
She runs and drives amazingly.. I love her
I’ve been discussing painting her (she needs it) clear coat went to shit and original paint is damaged.
So I talked to my old boss, who says in all his years of doing restoration, paint, etc that he’s never seen one of these in this color combo.. two toned Cabernet & Scarlett with almost perfect Scarlett interior.

So I went to digging..
First I tried finding pictures by color code..
with no luck I decided to order a Marti report.
Ole girl is 1 of 28 for trim and paint package manufactured by ford in 1989.
She has original everything, with 195k miles.

I guess after explaining I’m wondering how many of these 28 do we think is still around in one piece? Do any of you have one or know of anyone? I would love to see pictures.
…. Also, who converted my truck to DRW if they weren’t made in that trim and paint in that year? There’s an arrow craft sticker in the door jam about the conversion.. but who manufacturer or owner? HELP:)

Welcome to the Ford Barn! Enjoy that truck! Sorry I can't help with your question. It's good to see another from "Miss Sippi" here. I live near US 49 in Star, Ms.

Thank you!
I don’t need to convert I’m trying to find out who converted.. we’re thinking ford did before it was ever sold on the showroom side. Because the original pic of my truck it is already a dually. And according to my Marti Report says it was a retail type order.

Oh wonderful! We’re in south MS, off 43N.

Lots of things went on, even as late as 1989. The famous GM cars “COPO” cars with engine options. Stripped vans shipped to “licensed up builders” for custom interiors and those big side windows. Dealers installed options, sometimes factory approved. Dually wheels from arrow, maybe fender flairs from someone else? when no factory option was offered.

A little different from the dual quads, etc, that came in the trunk and the dealer installed. But it could be something like that. Hard to trace. Maybe a 1 off for your trim options. Most of the dually’s (if not factory) were probably fleet vehicles.

Oh it’s worse than ain’t so pretty, original owner even put a coat of black on the hood because the paint was just gone to protect the metal. But all her tins are original.
We are going to restore her paint to 100% factory except with a better clear because that was the downfall of mine.. especially since the clears were water based in that time line.
