Safety Glass Windows

Did any of the later production Model A's have safety glass in the side windows?

Nope, just the front.

Safety glass in the side and rear windows was a factory option in Model A's.

I owned a MARC of originality May 31 Vic. It had original laminated XXX side windows.
Makes me think deluxe cars came with it? I’ve had original A400 glass, same thing.

Safety Glass Windows

With any vintage vehicle
unless you are 100% certain
that all of the glass is genuine
certified safety glass …..

Call an established reputable
independent established local
glass company with employees
that are true craftsmen and
have been on the trade many years
(preferably family owned & operated)
and see if they can inspect your glass.

Insurance companies require your
vehicle have safety glass and unless
you want to risk serious injury or death
you should not drive any vintage vehicle
without safety glass in all the windows.

Cabriolet side windows are 3/16 plate.
There’s a trick to determining laminate (other than looking at edge if not viewable) but escapes me.

Hold a lighter or match up to it.Wiggle your head around to get the right angle, and if it is laminated you will see two images. One will be a little ghostier than the other. Most time just a business card will do it too.Set the edge of it against the glass, and angle it back and forth until you see a reflection.Easier to do in the shade or in the garage, not in the sun.

You shouldn't make a blanket statement that infers ALL insurance companies. I have Hagerty and do not find that clause in my policy. SOME would have been a better word to use.
