fuel pump 1936 ford v8 I with a kit I rebuilt a period fuel pump which performs OK but is noisy. My 38 ford ford runs quiet. What could be the cause of the loud noise? Sonny

Re: fuel pump 1936 ford v8 Your pivot shaft may be sloppy, allowing too much slack at the pushrod. A farmer fix is cheap and quick: Cut a small shim from a leather shoe tongue to insert between the pushrod and the operating lever. Or, spend a couple bucks and buy a ready made shim, they’ve been around for many years.
