38/47 coe did 38/47 coe have a firewall insulator . if so is it repoed ?

Re: 38/47 coe I’m not sure which part of firewall you refer to. The doghouse top and side panels were double walled steel with rock wool (fiberglass?) insulation between. The forward part of the doghouse (single thickness sheet metal shaped like horseshoe) appears to have had similar insulation attached on the engine side. I suspect you already know this.
I don’t think the sheetmetal between the dash and grille had any insulation as there’s no evidence on my truck of any. My truck no longer has any interior upholstery so there may have been under dash insulation associated with the upholstery that goes against what would normally be a firewall. Unfortunately, I don’t know and am hoping others might. |
Re: 38/47 coe I have had several COE trucks 1938 1939 1940 1941 1942 1946 1947. Never saw any firewall insulation on any of them.

Re: 38/47 coe My truck, along with Butch Kent and Merle Prusia's trucks did not have any firewall insulation. This is why you do not need a heater in a Cabover...lol
