Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv 2 Attachment(s)
As the title states, I need to remove the dovetail assemblies in the b pillar on my 39 Conv. I know I’ll have to drill the rivets out, but I don’t see a way to get it out of the b pillar once it’s loose. The b pillar is totally enclosed on all sides.

Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv You'll need to drill the rivets out, cut an opening in the rear of the B pillar to remove the assembly.
Why do you want to remove the assembly? |
Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv They are worn out.

Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv Will the guts come out without removing the whole assembly?

Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv Hahaa. Never mind. I see how the innards come out now. I still need to tig up the lower edge of the opening and straighten that up, but I should be able to do that with the housing still in place.

Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv Thanks for the reply Kube.

Re: Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv Glad you have this sorted. That bottom edge is often worn when the strikers were allowed to wear well beyond their useful life. I have welded up many :)
