Removing female dovetail assembly on 39 Conv

2 Attachment(s)
As the title states, I need to remove the dovetail assemblies in the b pillar on my 39 Conv. I know I’ll have to drill the rivets out, but I don’t see a way to get it out of the b pillar once it’s loose. The b pillar is totally enclosed on all sides.

You'll need to drill the rivets out, cut an opening in the rear of the B pillar to remove the assembly.
Why do you want to remove the assembly?

They are worn out.

Will the guts come out without removing the whole assembly?

Hahaa. Never mind. I see how the innards come out now. I still need to tig up the lower edge of the opening and straighten that up, but I should be able to do that with the housing still in place.

Glad you have this sorted. That bottom edge is often worn when the strikers were allowed to wear well beyond their useful life. I have welded up many :)
