What kind of carburetor are you asking about ? If it is a Stromberg model 40 / 48, Max Musgrove is the best that there is.

That's a model 59 carburetor which came from a 1946-48 Ford engine.

Sal, Charlie's wife Alice is seriously ill so he's not working presently. I believe she's in Hospice care.

Thank you for the info. That's sad. I know Alice has not been well for a while now.

I just spoke with Charlie in NY the middle of last week about rebushing my 2nd gear, and didn't mention anything about what going on in his personal life. Just said I'll watch for your package... glad I seen this thread, just to know.

Alice is in hospice so Charlie closed shop to be with her24/7. My prayers are with them in this trying time.

Get a rebuilding kit from Daytona in Fla and do it yourself, see their web site. If the 59 is on your 33 I would consider getting a rebuild model 40 Stromberg from Max Musgrove run a 34 intake and things will assemble and appear much better. Max is the Stromberg repair technician.

So for the average hack mechanic, of which I am a charter member, getting a box of parts and knowing what to do with them are two very different things. Having a competent rebuilder put eyes, and hands, on a carb is means to eliminate an important variable and get or stay on the road.

They are not complicated. Mainly, get it clean, clean, clean. That includes all passages. I like to soak the stripped body in acetone in a closed container for at least 24 hours. This is followed by a thorough blasting with canned carb cleaner through all passages.

Another source for Holley 94 rebuild is Ken O'connor in Winnipeg Canada.
Only works on the 94's, dose multiple carb set ups also. His quality is top notch.
