Re: 30's Music

I went on youtube and recorded Ted Weems and some Gus Arnheim and play it through a portable, battery powered $10 player. Sounds like a victrola that way ;) The interesting part of my recording is that it starts out with good ol' time music and ends with the outragous Limp Bizkit doing Break Stuff. It's no wonder the kids today are furious with the lyrics they hear. "the first one to complain, leaves with a blood stain" and " i just might break your F%#*ing face tonight''

I know this is an old thread but I recently found some music that y'all might be interested in.

I remember it from when I was a kid watching Stan & Laurel, and the Little Rascals. A group called the Beau Hunks have recreated - or should maybe say - redone? - some of what I think is the best music from the 20s & 30s. I found a link on YouTube that has over 50 of their renditions, some aren't as popular as others but overall it's pretty darn good!

If I did it right, it should start out with Little Rascals' opening theme song "The Good Old Days":

Hope y'all enjoy this great music as much as I do!

Group,

I have a business restoring music from 78's/LPs by removing the clicks and pops. My favorite records from the early 1930's are a series of "Hit of The Week" records. They came out from 1930-32.

Playing the old period music in my Model A while I'm driving is a real kick!

At a show this past summer, my wife gathered some "big band" music from the 30's and put them on her iPod, strategically placed in the cab. Played for the whole day that way.

I can truly say that Marc Hildebrant does a great job on restoring and re-recording old records. He has done hundreds of my old records and made CDs from them. It is great backround music in the garage working on the old Model As. Nice Model A there Marc!!!

I always have 1930's music ready to play on my 1921 Victrola. I bought a pile of 78's for pennies. I even scored some very early Sinatra on 78's.

Ken B, thanks for the compliment on the music and car. Both the music and the Model A are so much fun that I think that I was born to late !
