Cell Phone Holder I need a recommendation for a cell phone holder that works well in a Model "A". I prefer that the holder mounts on the dash rail near the steering wheel because I use "Ways" to navigate to Model "A" club events. Pictures will be nice to see.

Re: Cell Phone Holder i have one of these and it works, it mounts on the dash without having to drill anything. But i would recommend putting some sticky tape behind it so it doesn't scratch anything...

Re: Cell Phone Holder Attached article is how I mounted a GPS device. It is easily removable. The same thinking can be applied to a cell phone.

Re: Cell Phone Holder 5 Attachment(s)
I made this from a piece of 3/4" x 3/16" flat steel and phone holder with a 1/4"-20 threaded hole for a tripod mount. It hooks on the dash rail. A little black electrical tape prevents scratching the paint. It can be slid left or right as desired. It can be angled toward the driver too. Easily removed by lifting it up. It works great for me.

I just received this from Snyder’s.

Re: Cell Phone Holder One of the guys I work with at Greenfield Village has an A he drives often. He has the one from Snyder's and is highly complementary of it.

Re: Cell Phone Holder Glue a strong magnet to the back of the cell phone then glue a soft piece of cloth to the magnet. Then mount it anywhere you want.

Re: Cell Phone Holder No hands free? Put it in your pocket and pull over to make a call.
Using for navigation? No audio? Distracted driving against the law in TN…..of course never enforced! |
Re: Cell Phone Holder Distracted driving in newer modern’s ! Some or most have a big screen in the middle of the dash ! A built-in distraction ! Also the bright screen is blinding at night ! Rant over !
One morning driving to work on an Interstate highway, some lady was steering with her elbows using the lighted mirrored sun visor put makeup on ! I’am glad I’am retired ! |
Re: Cell Phone Holder I’ve seen the “putting make up on” thingy more than once!
The mfg bigger screens don’t take a drivers full field of vision. But YES they are a distraction imho. You know your getting old…..when you like everything the was it WAS! That’s me! |
Re: Cell Phone Holder Y-Blockhead, it should be Waze. I goofed.

Re: Cell Phone Holder I agree with Neil's rcommendation to use a magnet to hold your phone. I took a quick look on Amazon, they were showing a variety of bases that use magnets to hold cell phones.
Caution when using adhesives, some adhesives can work so well they end up removing the paint their attached to. |
Re: Cell Phone Holder I would advise against getting a windshield-mounted phone holder. My coupe's windshield vibrates ever so lightly. Not noticable in regular driving, but it makes my phone unusable.

Re: Cell Phone Holder I am old school when it comes to using a phone, and I still have a land line. I rarely use my cell phone, but I want to have it handy in the Model "A" just in case an urgent need to communicate arises. I think the magnet idea is what I will do. Thanks nkaminar for the idea! Thank you all who posted suggestions, they are appreciated.

I bought one of these off Amazon. I'm not affiliated with the brand or Amazon, but I really like how well it works.

Re: Cell Phone Holder Will the magnet goof up the cellphone? They use magnets to erase some electronic stuff. ???
