tranny ngears.... headlight rim cork while chatting "a" trannys someone said thay had heard somewhere about using some kind of chevy gears in a ford tranny to get syncronisers. any one heared of this?
a while back i ordered the cork gasket for the headlight rim, they were so brittle they crumbled when i tried installing them. the supplier replaced them with better ones, but has any one come up with a better idea. maybe some small vinyl hose or foam material. cork gaskets are almost a thing of the past, there must be a better way. |
Re: tranny ngears.... headlight rim cork They used to, and maybe still do, sell rubber (type) gasket for the headlight reflector to rim gaskets.

Re: tranny ngears.... headlight rim cork I have edited my post. On some of my old car headlights I found waxed cord used as a gasket.

Re: tranny ngears.... headlight rim cork Don't know about Chevy gears, but Mitchell makes a synchronized Model A tranny that I believe is in a stock tranny case, or close to it. Bolts right in. Not cheap, however.
