39 rear

Trying to help a friend has a real nice 39Ford 2 door, stock 3.78 rear with a Mitchel o d . When he makes a sharp left turn there is a high pitch almost like a scraping noise. We pulled the hubs, rollers were find hubs in great shape repacked them with proper grease but did not help. Presently leaning towards spider gears ! But that is a lot of work to do on a hunch of an amateur. Any suggestions, thoughts ,ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Rick

Checked to make sure brake drums aren’t scraping on backing plates?

Just for additional insights, maybe drain the rear end into a clean catch pan and see what you find. Bright metal, etc. if all looks good, it might give you some comfort. If it’s really black, stick a magnet in it. Stick your little finger in the banjo hole and see if you get anything. I drained the rear axle of my ‘32 many years ago before I restored it and a half of a ring gear tooth fell out. Had no idea that there was a problem… was smooth and made no noises (that I paid attention to).

Thanks to both, did drain oil but problem solved, broken fender brace at little faster speed body would lean & scrape tire.

Well this is more than a little embarrassing. 😳
Stuffed a guy in back seat .
Noise on LR .
RR fender has 1” clearance to tire .

LR Fender Brace is cracked.
Only 1/2” clearance.

Radial flexed and barely rubbed fender .
Not enough to make a mark on new Radial Tire . 🛞
Got Lucky 🍀
