34 Pickup Hey guys, Im having a hard time locating a e-break handle boot.
I keep seeing ones that look like model A boots on the net, and when I call Im told they are 34s. I ordered one and sure enough its a model A e-break handle boot, not even close to fitting the 34 handle. I cant even find a picture of a 34 pickup with a original boot. I was hoping someone here might have a picture of a original so Ill know what Im looking for. as always thanks all cheers |
Re: 34 Pickup From what I recall, the '34 Pickup and cars did not have an e-brake boot from factory...

Re: 34 Pickup The one you purchased will work fine on your pick-up.

Re: 34 Pickup You got me curious. I have a basket case '34 BB fire truck hose tender with low mileage and it does not have one. I also have a '34 and a '33 pickup that need restoration, they do not have them. Then I go to look on the computer and I type in "original '34 pickup interior photo" and I get hundreds of photos of billet hot rods and not one photo of an original interior. I have most of the original '34 Ford brochures and they didn't pay much attention to the pickups as far as interior photos.

Re: 34 Pickup In the 33/34 book, older one, page 7-17- NO boot on e brake. just comes thro the mat. Newc

Re: 34 Pickup Pete's recollection is correct, no boot offered for any '32-'36 passenger car, commercial vehicle or big truck hand brake.

Re: 34 Pickup Just FYI, most Ford vehicles in this era were equipped from the factory with foam rubber dust seals for the gear shift lever and emergency brake lever as well as around the steering column tube and brake and clutch pedal arms. Depending on the vehicle, the foam fits beneath the transmission cover and under the floorboards and cover plates to help keep dust and noise out. This original material often disintegrated and is usually missing. When it's there, it does work as intended. Some of this foam is available from the reproduction vendors but I don't know if the seals for the 1934 pickup have been reproduced.
