How to test horn button My horn stopped working, and found that there is power to the horn, but the button does not go to ground. I cleaned the ends of the rod and the light switch, but they weren't very dirty.
I therefore suspect the button. I've removed the rod but don't know how to test the button, because I don't know where the ground touch point is to see if there is continuity when I press the button. Is it the shaft itself? Or the underside of the switch assembly at the top? I'd like to remove the button to see if things look ok, but I can't see a way to remove it, other than unfolding four metal tabs? Is that the way to remove it? Thanks! |
Re: How to test horn button Unfold the metal tabs to remove the button. Test it by hooking up an ohm meter from the wire at the end of the rod and the outside of the rod itself. If the button is working the meter should read close to zero when you press it.
