Spare tire/trunk rack

Model A guys, I need some help. On my way down to see my Mom, I saw a Model A coupe on the highway going in the opposite direction. It had the spare tire on the rear with a trunk rack behind that. It that a normal thing for a Model A? The reason I ask, is that I have a 32 Model B tudor with the spare mounted in the rear and would really like to be able to add a trunk rack to it.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Jim

You can add a trunk behind the rear spare, but most of the ones I see have the trunk sagging down due to poor support, and that sure doesn't add to the looks of a Model A.

If you make a rack be sure to allow for removing the spare tire.

Re: Spare tire/trunk rack

Extensions made from steel coming off the bumper brackets make it possible to put a trunk rack on the back with a spare, can be bought at any model 'A' supply house

I have the set up. The extension brackets come in two thicknesses. Be sure to get the heavy duty. I am not crazy about the looks with the trunk, but but was great to have on my 1400 mile trip last summer.

I don't like the looks either. Even thought about no spare tire, in fact I'm still thinking about no spare tire. Oh well

Thank you all for the replies.
As I mentioned, I have a 32 Model B and haven't seen any additional brackets listed anywhere. The Model A I saw looked really good with the trunk rack, but it was in the UP position. Down and with a trunk maybe not so good looking, but would be functional for my needs.
Thanks again
Jim

Put the trunk on the back and the spare in a side mount fender well.

Gee, My Rear spare, trunk rack looks and works good in my experience, to include when I have a trunk on it, with the brake light rotated aft.

I like the looks and it draws lots of favorable comments from lookers.

It required an extension piece, available from the vendors.

So do I, but in my case (PU) that's the only logical choice I have!

Old photos never show the trunk behind the spare. My solution was a swivel wheel trailer for traveling. I found several old box type ones with covers which are great behind an A. No backing up problems either. Don't know how to post photos on here, but can email.

I have a rack behind the spare on my roadster which is for sale. I do not have a trunk, but use the rack to hold luggage and a big picnic hamper, and otherwise it is folded up, and looks great.
